Your pool doesn't close for the winter here. It just needs different settings, different chemistry targets, and a freeze plan that was tested before you needed it.
What it's for
Most winter pool damage in Central Texas happens on one or two nights a year, in systems that were never checked beforehand.
We don't get a real winter, and that's exactly the problem. Equipment sits configured for mild weather right up until the night it isn't, and by then it's dark, it's freezing, and nobody's finding the freeze setting in an automation menu.
This is a single visit that gets the pool set correctly for the cool months and leaves you with a written plan for the nights that matter. It's built for owners who maintain their own pools, and it's equally useful if you've just inherited one and haven't been through a Texas freeze with it yet.
What's included
One visit, roughly an hour and a half on site.
- Freeze protection located, enabled, and actually tested — not just assumed to work
- Pump run time reset for cooling water, with the schedule written down
- Full digital chemistry reading and LSI check, corrected for cold-water balance
- Filter pressure read and compared against clean, with a clean scheduled if it's due
- Salt cell inspected — output drops in cold water, and that's normal, not a fault
- Equipment pad walkthrough: pump lid seal, unions, drain plug locations, valve positions
- Water level and skimmer check so nothing runs dry during a cold snap
- Cleaner and basket condition ahead of the heaviest debris weeks of the year

What it isn't
Honest boundaries, same as everything else here.
Not a closing
Nothing gets winterized or covered. Pools here stay open and circulating year-round, and shutting one down causes more trouble than it prevents.
Not a repair visit
If something turns up that needs fixing, you get told plainly what it is and what it takes. Wet-side work I can handle; electrical, gas, and structural work gets referred out.
Not a commitment
It's a one-time service. If you'd rather hand the whole season off, weekly service already includes all of this as part of the rhythm.
When to book it
Ideally September through November — before the first cold front, not the night one is forecast.
Booking after a freeze warning is already on the news is the hardest time to get anyone out, and it's the one night the setting you never tested matters. Earlier is cheaper in every sense.
