What's your pool's Water Health Score?

Your readings on their own are just numbers. Put them together and you get one grade that tells you whether your water is protecting your pool or slowly taking it apart.

Enter your latest readings

From a test strip, a home kit, a pool store printout, or your last service report. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere — the math runs in your browser.

86°F

Right off your thermometer or your service report.

3ppm

The chlorine still available to sanitize.

7.5

Most Central Texas pools drift up, not down.

90ppm

The buffer that keeps pH from swinging.

300ppm

Fill water here often starts above 200.

50ppm

Protects chlorine from the sun — until there's too much.

What your numbers are saying

  • Nothing here needs correcting today. Keep an eye on stabilizer and calcium over the season — both only climb.

This is a guide, not a diagnosis. Test strips in particular run wide, and a score built on a bad reading is a bad score. If something here surprises you, get the water tested properly before you dose anything.

How the score is built

Weighted the way water actually damages a pool — surface and equipment first, then whether the chlorine can do its job.

LSI balance — 40%

The Langelier Saturation Index puts temperature, pH, calcium, and alkalinity together to say whether your water is dissolving plaster or depositing scale. It carries the most weight because it's the only part of the panel that permanently changes your pool.

Sanitizer vs. stabilizer — 25%

Free chlorine is meaningless without the stabilizer number next to it. Chlorine is graded against roughly 7.5% of your cyanuric acid, which is why 3 ppm is plenty at 40 ppm CYA and nearly useless at 100.

Stabilizer level — 15%

Cyanuric acid never leaves on its own. Every trichlor tab and every bag of dichlor adds more, and once it's high the only real fix is replacing water.

Calcium hardness — 10%

Central Texas fill water arrives hard, and evaporation concentrates it every summer. Too low eats plaster, too high scales heaters and salt cells.

Alkalinity — 10%

The buffer. Low alkalinity means a pH that won't hold still between visits; high alkalinity means a pH that climbs no matter what you add.

What it can't see

Phosphates, metals, salt, filter condition, runtime, and circulation all affect real-world water. A score is a starting point for the conversation, not the whole picture.

Not happy with your score?

Weekly service includes digital readings of the full panel and LSI-balanced chemistry every visit, so this number stops being a surprise. Quotes start with an on-site water test.
